Gorgeous historic and scenic location. Enjoyed an afternoon here (yesterday) just strolling around in the beautiful summer weather. Grounds are well kept and everyone friendly and enjoying themselves. Quite a few well behaved dogs on leashes and mild mannered children running around playing.
Always a great place for a walk, for sitting outside and watching the world go by, or for the summer concert and festival events. The grounds crew do such a great job maintaining the area. Having fewer festivals on the lawn seems to be paying off - the grass looks much improved. The county has been investing in taking care of the trees and planting new ones - and I really appreciate that. This is a unique place in Arizona and maintaining it is a great investment for the county (and city).
Cant help the folks that don't pick up after their dogs but people do for the most part. It's mostly shady with spots of sunlight running through. It's a great spot to be with the family and everything is easy walking to. Downside is parking and traffic. The town has expanded, but there's no where for roads to adapt. Plan accordingly! Also, slim lanes, angled down to the curb for rain, so it pulls steering a little funny sometimes. Compact cars are the best for parking, but watch out for long bed trucks! They stick out and force people to half merge into the next lane.Events are abundant and months in advance are listed on display at 2 ends. Car shows, art events, and music to name a few. Guards walk about and keep folks safe. They're super nice to boot. Police are never far away and seem to have great response time to whiskey row that surrounds the plaza.
Beautiful and shady place for walking you fur babies. Overall very clean some pet owners could do better cleaning up after their dog does their business.
A must go! Every weekend, a festival of some sort. Artwork, music, food or whatever, it's a great time there. Holidays are the best with decorations, lighting and music. Plenty of food and treats. Close to all the downtown shopping. Bars everywhere, cigar store, amazing atmosphere, I love this place! Will be going again for sure!
